Congratulations, Light Worker! You’ve been called to embrace being ‘spiritual.’
You’ve awakened to a path of infinite possibilities, committed to realizing your full potential and manifesting your dreams.
You’ve decided to raise your vibration, take Yoga classes, meet your Spirit Guides and be open hearted and compassionate toward others.
Your timing is impeccable.
The Shadow of ourselves, our culture, our society, has perpetuated itself throughout the generations thanks to racism, classism, sexism, and just about every other ‘ism’ in society. By hiding our own wounds from ourselves and projecting them onto others, we continue to extend that Shadow.
This world needs healing and the wounds are festering.
If there are no coincidences, then it is no accident that your gifts, your interests, your light and your wounds arrive in the world at this time. We may come to the spiritual path to find inspiration, enlightenment, personal fulfillment, or to manifest our individual goals, yet we are part of a larger mission.
Light work is not convenient
Sadly, too many of us—while heeding the call—are missing our mark. The physical world is the playground we have chosen to show up in for this incarnation, and that means that as we activate our power as healers and Light Workers we heed a calling to become healers in every realm of our lives. We don’t get to honor our calling only when it is convenient. We don’t get to honor our calling only when it is convenient. We don’t get to reserve our awareness for the highs and then tune out the lows. We don’t get to ignore our own healing and become martyrs for others.
And likewise, we don’t get to ignore the macrocosm, the suffering and injustices all around us. If we are dedicated to opening up to the physical and spiritual worlds, this means we have committed to working with the realms of energy, Spirit and healing for the benefit of both worlds.
The three dimensional world is the place we are needed. It is where our healing is needed, it is where our wisdom is needed. We are sacred vessels, facilitators and connectors between the two worlds.
So while it may be tempting to try to cash in on a get-out-of-3D-free card, remember that we are endowed with the experiences, feelings, gifts and opportunities needed in the right time and place to fulfill our contract to uplift, shine, serve and improve the world.
This heavy lifting is not a failure to fulfill our mission, it is part of our mission.
Although this path is not for the faint of heart, even if you fear you lack the courage, you will rise to the challenge of this journey. By putting these five guiding principles into practice, you will courageously expand and awaken with each step forward.
The Heavy Lifting of Light Workers
Heal Yourself– Your gifts, healing, medicine, guidance can only shine as brightly as you. While it is imbalanced to ignore the greater work of healing on the social level, it is equally irresponsible to overlook your own ground work. This requires honesty about your Shadow, your dark side, your less-than-love-and-lightness. Your humanity is the vehicle for your spirituality and that means you must be willing to do the heavy lifting in the personal, 3D, mind-body-spirit realm. Owning feelings and unpleasant aspects of your psyche is a part of this work.
Acknowledge Your Shadow– having the courage to be as awesomely and completely human as you are awesome and completely spiritual is what makes you a real, down to earth, relatable conduit for immense healing and transformation for others and the world. Pretending you have ‘gotten rid of’ ego drives or cured yourself of base, ‘low vibrational’ feelings and experiences is a hefty dose of bullshit. Yes, you are human, yes you have base urges and desires and petty jealousies and fears. Don’t want these instincts in the driver’s seat? Then be willing to admit they exist so you can work with this energy productively.
Strike a Balance– Being informed and active doesn’t mean we must drown ourselves in the agony of current events, or the suffering of our clients. If we are drowning, we can’t uplift anyone else. Tread through the territory of the Shadow- both your Shadow and society’s, in balance.
Find Your Peeps– Unless you are striving for the Mad Magician thing, it is best to be a part of community. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts and your impact on the world is strengthened when you have the support, guidance and strength of others.
Be Part of the Solution– You don’t have to have a million followers. Your work may or may not be ‘ground-breaking.’ You may never get to see the positive impact your medicine has on those around you. The most powerful magick you will bring to this world lies in the impact of your daily decisions. How will you approach others? How will you extend yourself to people and situations in need of healing and uplifting? How will you embody the love and light you have come here to share with the world?
