What would it look like if we did things for our future-selves on a daily basis?
My recognition that there even is a future-me happened when I learned a great habit from my mom—I clean my home before I go on a trip so future-me doesn’t have to wash dishes or do extra laundry when she arrives home.
I started to book more vacations ahead of time, and plan weekends away from the city.
I created a “someday/maybe” list so I can keep track of all of the things I want to accomplish.
I opened that emergency savings account.
I started investing.
I started buying birthday gifts ahead of time so that I don’t feel rushed choosing and sending or giving gifts.
I started making some dinners in the beginning of the week so I don’t have to cook when I get home in the evening.
This is a great way to thoughtfully care for yourself. When present-me gets to enjoy what past-me cleaned, organized, or planned for her, I always feel grateful and appreciated.
What would future-you appreciate?
