What is your love language?

love language

A love language is how you need love to be communicated to you. Have you ever been in a relationship with someone who doesn’t need to hear “I love you” or doesn’t say it back? Maybe that hurts because you really need to hear those words. That is the language of words of affirmation.

If you need physical affection to feel loved, that is the language of touch.

If you need to spend a lot of time with your partner on adventures, trips, and dates, that is the language of quality time.

If you need your partner to give you things or surprises, that is the language of gifts.

If you need someone to do thoughtful things like scrape off your windshield early on a icy, snowy morning before work, that is the language of acts of service.

The way you communicate love may be different from how your partner communicates love. For example, you might give your partner gifts frequently but he doesn’t seem to appreciate it. That’s because gifts mean love to you, but maybe not to him.

You may know from reading the list what your top 2 love languages are, but it is worth taking the quiz!
If you know your love language, you can tell your partner what you need. When you know what your partner’s love language is, you can give him or her what he or she needs to feel loved. It can also help in your friendships and relationships with family. Discover how your friends and family like to be loved. Then give them love in that form to let them know how you feel about them.
